Challenge: Game show hosts are all secretly robots

You TOTALLY thought that I would forget, didn't you?

Well, ha. I did. And now it's quarter to midnight and I'm rushing to get this done because CAPS LOCK means business.

Below you will find my answers to the best-friend newlywed game hosted by our own fictitious Ginger Blazerfield *wink* (TM).  I left these for a really long time, so I don't know if Tanya has changed her answers or if she even remembers that I need to do this or not. Actually that is a lie. I know Tanya has changed her answers, as she told me she wanted to literally 20 minutes after she posted the original questions. So to wrap up: quick post. Superhero marriage proposal on Friday (I'm counting this as my Wednesday post) and then everything will be hunky dory.

  1. If Tanya was a character from FRIENDS, who would she be? -- This is a trick question because Tanya has traits from all the characters. But if I went with my knee-jerk reaction, it would be Chandler.

  2. If Tanya could bring back any pet from the dead and have it live for the rest of her life as a healthy age (not old and broken) which past pet would she bring back? --Uhm crap. Dude, this is both horrifying and difficult. BooBoo the boxer? I know he wasn't your pet per se, but you're an animal person and you freaking love everything to death. Bo, Fez, Dusty, Aspen, Squee, Magoo, etc. Hard to choose one. You're mean.

  3. Which celebrity would Tanya trade lives with for one year?--Jennifer Lawrence. (runners up: whoever is dating Chris Evans/Pine right now)

  4. If Tanya was told she could only play one video game for the rest of her life, which would she pick (any system)? -- I should hope that she would choose Mario Party because of our history at being awesome at Mario Party. (runners up: Lego Batman 2 for the talking parts and the less annoying camera angles, Lego Harry Potter and Katamari)

  5. If Tanya won $5000 and was forced to buy something instead of paying bills, what would she buy? -- A plane ticket and an all inclusive stay at Harry Potter World? (runners up: world peace, a bulldog, aaannnd lots of roots sweatpants because they're cozy as all eff. I'm wearing roots sweatpants right now)

  6. If Tanya could have one wild animal as a pet (size can be modified to better fit in a house) what would she get? -- Elephant. A teeny tiny elephant. (runners up: monkey, house hippo, fierce)

  7. If Tanya could go back in time and tell herself one thing, what age would she go to and what would she tell herself? -- Probably to her back at the end of grade twelve to tell herself that she doesn't have to have it all together. Or the same thing during her first year of college. I remember sitting with her at her kitchen table and she had two different programs in mind and we kind of pro/con'd them for a while and I think it was just so much pressure to choose *something* that she ended up hating what she did choose for a while. I'm glad she started kind of taking pictures again because she's hella talented. Read my letter of reference if you don't believe me. (runner up: go back to when she was like 7 and tell young Tanya to NOT run in front of the mattress *just yet* in order to avoid the screw driver Kris was throwing at her eye)

  8. What irritating habit does Tanya have that she wants to stop? -- lol the only one I can think of is eating KD. But it's so delicious. (runners up: piling stuff in her office and leaving it there forever and not writing when she means to ie: procrastinating)

  9. If Tanya could change one non-physical-appearancey thing about herself, what would she change? -- Anxiety.

  10. If Tanya could change one thing about Crystal, what would she change? -- Absolutely nothing because she's perfect. Honestly? Ability to be on time for sure. I suck at that. Or my penchant for calling everyone Dude.

TANYA'S CHALLENGE: Tell me my score AND answer the same questions for me. My answers have been written down in my agenda and I am stoked to see what you think.

Challenge #6: That's What She Said

Thinking up challenges is hard, especially when I have to think up punishments too. Jeepers.

Anyway, challenge the sixth time will be a two parter! Well I guess three including this.

So Part One: THE QUESTIONS!

Well, let's go back to pre-part one: THE EXPLANATION!

What we are going to do is a buddy version of the Newlywed Game. I am going to ask a few questions and Crystal will answer based on how she thinks I would answer about myself. Make sense? Does anything I say? Okay, further explanation needed, say I ask "I would describe my height as..." then Crystal would answer "Short" and I would then later reveal my answer as "Short" and then she gets a point. If she gets it wrong, no point. If she gets enough points then something will happen. I haven't decided what yet. And to make it very fair I will write down my answers as I make up the questions so that I don't change them based on her answers. And if you still don't trust me I can email them to Sandy so she can verify them as honest if need be.

So are we ready to question Crystal about her knowledge of me!? (PS: To be completely honest I would be so bad at this game if I had to answer the questions about anyone else, Crystal will probably kill it.)

First, lets introduce our host, Ginger Blazerfield!

gingerblazerfieldGinger, please begin.

Alright Tanya! Welcome to our new (not so original) game that we will call "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID"! Here are the questions for Crystal to answer based on how she believes Tanya would answer! Crystal should provide a small insight into her reasoning for the answers with each decision. Let's begin,

  1. If Tanya was a character from FRIENDS, who would she be?

  2. If Tanya could bring back any pet from the dead and have it live for the rest of her life as a healthy age (not old and broken) which past pet would she bring back?

  3. Which celebrity would Tanya trade lives with for one year?

  4. If Tanya was told she could only play one video game for the rest of her life, which would she pick (any system)?

  5. If Tanya won $5000 and was forced to buy something instead of paying bills, what would she buy?

  6. If Tanya could have one wild animal as a pet (size can be modified to better fit in a house) what would she get?

  7. If Tanya could go back in time and tell herself one thing, what age would she go to and what would she tell herself?

  8. What irritating habit does Tanya have that she wants to stop?

  9. If Tanya could change one non-physical-appearancey thing about herself, what would she change?

  10. If Tanya could change one thing about Crystal, what would she change?

Crystal, please answer all questions on Monday with your reasoning. Remember, answer the questions how you think Tanya would answer, not how you would answer. Tanya has asked me to remind you that you still owe us a challenge regarding the marriageability of a superhero. Until next time, I am Ginger Blazerfield and this was That's What She Said.

Thank you Ginger, that was great. Anyway, that is our new game. Feel free to play along in the comments! Although, don't answer for how you think I would answer because then you are giving hints to Crystal, you can take these questions and play yourself with a partner if you like! Good luck Crystal!

Challenge #4 - Phenomenal cosmic power!

... Itty bitty living space.

I loved your story. I am sitting here, hot chocolate in hand (or as the 'cool' kids like to call it, hotcho), all curled up and reading your pirate story. I am semi confused how I got to a pirate ship in the first place, let alone why I was pushed in to the closet, but whatever. The wizard and I come out of the closet together because his cape was in the way. And it was too billowy for a cramped environment. Fabulous. But what of the pirates? If they can make terrible puns about their own career choices, they are my kind of people. I want to save the pirates too! They don't deserve to  live out a Hitchcock movie! Common!

[Interlude] As readers probably know by now, I research dumb things a lot. For instance, I have seen the movie Lifeboat, mentioned above, and forgot the title. So I Googled "men stuck in life boat" and this came up from Slate magazine online: Trapped in an Underwater Air Bubble for Three Days. The stuff of actual nightmares, guys. He lived 60 hours underwater without food, drinking water or light on the ocean floor. The fuck. It's a really interesting article and you should all check it out. [End interlude]

May I add that whimsical mustache wizard seems a little selfish. I think if he Dorothy'd hard enough, he could get me home. He just wants to keep me on his stupid island filled with puppies and books. So harsh. This is a tricky situation that I am in and I dislike it. Party time island with five people COULD be fun, or it could be a massive headache. Very tough choices to make.

* Five people I'm dooming to the island with me:

  1. Tanya. I mean this one is pretty obvious. Best friend, amusing storyteller, a deadpan wittiness that melds with my own sense of humor really well AND she understands my need to close off from people sometimes which I think I'd appreciate.

  2. Sandy. She has a fondness for pirates, books and puppies that is rarely seen in another human. She is also good at Scrabble, amongst other things.

  3. A (also known as Kiwi). He also likes Scrabble and sheep. So if there are sheep, board games and history related doo-dads then he's pretty much set for life. Also I miss spending time with him (super creepy if he reads this weeeo)

  4. K. She's a beach bum and is really laid back, so island life would suit her. (Sorry J, you'd hate me if I forced you on an island. We'll get you a boat to visit us for beach days)

  5. Robin Williams. I totally know him - I saw him on the street in Vancouver one time while my family was on vacation. He was wearing red Chucks. My dad yelled at him from across the street and I died from embarrassment. We're practically related. He can do Ms. Doubtfire bits and his stand up acts.

(Do you know how hard this is? I seriously do not have friends, my dear. I don't know why you needed me to bring FIVE whole people to the island with me.)

* Five celebrities that would have to sit with all of us nerds, the whimsical mustache wizard, and Robin Williams:

  1. Henry Cavill. Do I need a god damned reason?

  2. Bill F*cking Murray. He was my favourite original SNL Cast member and his sarcasm would bring a level of je-ne-sais-quoi to the table. I have a feeling that our good friend, whimsical mustache wizard, is not easily put off. I bet you Mr. Murray could easily quiet our jar-loving conjurer.

  3. Emma Stone. She's awesome and I think we'd all be friends. She can bring Andrew Garfield too.

  4. Nathan Fillion. He has a story for literally any subject. You want to talk about tariffs in the fish trade? Nathan Fillion has got a story for that. Awkward sex scenes? Oh boy, does he have a good one for you. Hilarious shaving mishaps? Let's not bring that up...

  5. Chris Pine. Again, I mean I really don't need a reason for bringing him at all. He's here to make sarcastic remarks (a common theme I guess) and eat apples in noisy fashions.

* 5 TV Series

  1. Doctor who. Sorry, Nathan. Firefly was too damned short. Dr. Who will last forever on this island.

  2. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down. But I'd like to take a minute - just sit right there - and I'll tell you about how I became the prince of Bel-Air.

  3. Shameless (US). I honestly just want more people to watch this show. It's hilarious and charming and terribly sad all at the same time. How does it do it? Chicago slums, bitches.

  4. Batman the Animated Series. We gotta have something to watch in the mornings.

  5. Game of Thrones. Who doesn't like a good death with their television programing?

(So many shows I wish were longer so that I could justify bringing them with me. Honorable mentions go to: New Girl, Misfits, How I met your mother, Pushing Daisies, Rome, Gilmore Girls, Sarah Conner Chronicles, The Walking Dead, etc. etc. etc. Ironically, I did not chose Gilligan's Island, LOST or any other stranded show.)

* 5 Books

  1. Good Omens - Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

  2. Monuments Men - Robert Edsel & Bret Witter

  3. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee

  4. The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss

  5. Bulfinch's Mythology - Thomas Bulfinch (Deluxe Edition)

(Also there was a library mentioned, so I think I'm well stocked for books.)

* 5 CDs

  1. The Killers - Hot Fuss

  2. Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams

  3. Elvis Presley - The 50 Greatest Hits

  4. The White Stripes - Elephant

  5. Billie Holiday - Songs for Distingue  Lovers

(CDs are hard because no one likes the whole disk. No one. I tried to pick CDs that I can leave on and listen to the whole way through, but that might just mean that they would just be background noise like the music at Retailland. Added bonus though: they're all nostalgic for me and they'd probably make me feel less isolated if I listened to them. Honorable mentions: Franz Ferdinand, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Otis Redding, Spice Girls, BSB, Destiny's Child, Outcast, and Led Zepplin, to name a few)

* 5 types of food

  1. Ice cream

  2. Fruit salad

  3. Pasta

  4. BBQ Chicken

  5. My mom's spinach strawberry salad. Because veggies.

(Honorable mentions: Waffles.)

* 5 types of drinks

  1. Fresh water

  2. Chocolate Milk

  3. Gin and Tonic

  4. Wheat Beer

  5. Coffee

There you go, darling! All answered in a timely fashion. Anyone can feel free to post their own answers, or rebut my own. These were surprisingly tough choices, as I had mentioned many times. I feel like if I was that limited, I'd get very sad. I'm a girl who likes variety. Obviously not with the people that I hang out with, but with the things that I do and the foods I eat. If I had to listen to those five cds for the rest of my life, I'd probably break them by month 2. If I had to limit myself to those tv shows, knowing there were other good choices, I'd throw the disks into the water. Then Henry Cavill would be upset with me because he was totally mid-season two of Fresh Prince, and Will was dancing and it's all a terrible terrible end.

My biggest fear? I'd go all Agatha Christie and cut someone just to have something to do. Seriously. You can be the Inspector and it will be a joyous time had by all; except the person who is murdered (I'm looking at you, wizard).

Your challenge is to ponder the following situation and give a solid answer: Out of flagrant disregard for the general public's well being, our very own whimsical mustache wizard deems himself the granter of all wishes. Sometimes, he messes certain wishes up. Somewhere in the past or present, you have wished to be a superhero. Having Batgirl's sense of self and Wonder Woman's Amazonian kick-ass-ness wouldn't be so bad, would it? Mustache wizard totally gets you, friend. He's all: "Man... Tanya's already kick ass. Super powers would make her even more amazing then before. I'm going to offer her a deal." In meeting with you he points out his extreme lack of actual helpfulness or ability and lays out his plan to make you the next comic book queen. He's going to give you one of three options:

1. You can become invisible. It's not at will and no one is quite sure how it is triggered, no one knows when it ends. You can't go through walls, people can still hear you when you speak/move/pass gas.

2.  You can hear people's thoughts. Rules: it can't be turned on or off at will, they have to be within a 50 meter radius of you and you will hear every thought. Keep in mind that most people don't think through everything they are doing, aren't serious about everything they think and their minds are most likely in the gutter more than half the time.

3. You can never die. This one kind of speaks for itself. You have the gift and curse of immortality and you'll be around when the world burns. Oh and you can still feel pain. Duh, forgot to mention that.

Do you take his offer? Which one power would you chose and which ones would you leave? And the all important elementary school application-question: Why?

Challenge #1: Let's kick it...

Ok, so obviously I'm not the best at blogging.  As anyone who knows my family could tell you, we don't stick to timelines very well. I have to make n effort to get things done on time that aren't graded or required for me to get paid. That being said, I couldn't tell you how great an opportunity this is for me. While I don't write as well as Tanya, but I'm going to try to keep up a front of competency and mild wittiness for you guys.

Allow me to tell you a little bit about my week. I am currently sitting in an extremely noisy starbucks with about an hour until I have to walk over to work and start the autumn transitions. Which essentially means moving everything in the store around and somehow making it look pretty. By the time 11 o'clock rolls around, I'll be exhausted and have several bruises on my body, and Hallowe'en decor will be up. That's right! My job - which I can't name right now because they scour the internet looking for mentions (let's just call it Retailville) - puts up their Hallowe'en and autumn stuff in August. Early August. There are turkeys staring at us from all corners of the store for a good 4 months. My week is as busy as my last - I'm going to be working 13 hours a day at two jobs from Tuesday-Friday. Killer am I right? This isn't a ploy for sympathy or anything, I'm just saying I don't post a whole bunch because my life is pretty much the OC Transpo and working. That's it.

So Tanya's first challenge to me was to talk about myself - which I am the best at doing. I can't tell you how long it actually took me to figure out what to write in this tiny box. I don't know if it's interesting or relevant, but here is the list I came up with:

1. I post regularly on Tumblr. I have used this platform for almost 3 years because I hated writing - ironic, no? Tumblr breakdown: It allows people to post whatever they want in whatever medium they want. It's a great albeit consuming way to pass your time.

2. Also internet. While my brother is more of the computer tech/games guy, I am now somehow infamous for surfing the web like no other. I don't mean to be conceited, but a lot of people come to me for stupid and random information. It is not a great CV qualification or anything, but spending time online and reading articles is kind of how I like to spend my day when I don't have plans elsewhere. The amount of useless information I know is beyond cute. It's ridiculous.

3. I read. An excessive amount.

You know how I alluded to the fact that I should bring a blanket with me on the bus, that is how little I am home to sleep? Yeah. Instead of napping like I probably should be I read. If I were to chose one thing I could do for the rest of my life, it would be reading. Don't ask me my favourite book, I never know it. It depends on the day; it depends on the mood; it depends on who I'm with at the time. Books are great because you can take yourself anywhere you want to go. People who know me well know for a fact that I will have a library in my house (I'm well stocked already) and it will be magnificent. Like, totally for sure.

4. I want to work here when I grow up:

This is the British Museum. It is in Britian.

This is the British Museum. It is in Britian.

Whenever that may be... I'll probably never get there, but hey, the journey is the best part!

5. I have 0$ all of the time. I can't decide if my spending habits are a genetic trait or not, but I have major problems.

6. I own a zombie cat... she's nice.
(Pre-zombie-virus)

7. Batman is my homeboy. He's pretty much got it all, and a hero complex to boot.

  1. a. subpoint! The scarecrow and the joker are my favourite villains. They're completely effed up and I love it.

8. I graduated with a classics degree this spring. I guess I'm an alumnist now. That means I know stuff about other stuff that happened a long time ago to other people. Also more books and speculation and things. It's a pretty good time. To know more go here, here and here.

9. Despite #5, I really want to travel a bunch. More than a bunch. I would go into this a whole bunch more, but this post is already very very long and I only have another 15 minutes before I have to leave for work. Gotta keep up the pace!

10. I live with these two goobers:

12. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would probably be fusilli and homemade marinara sauce. Probably.
Yum.

13. Skirts and dresses are the bomb. So breezy and nice. I just bought two new ones today.

14. The Departed is my favourite movie. Especially this part:

15. I'm a caffeine addict. So much so that it has become an issue when I don't drink coffee. Withdraw pains are not a good time, bro. The first coffee I ever had was right before my grade 11 Calculus exam. My mom brought me to Starbucks and a powerful bond was formed. One which I have not been able to break in 7 years.

Ok! That's all I had time for. I was totally going to do my challenge stuff today, but I guess I'll have to sneak out tomorrow and work on all of this stuff before Tanya comes over. Civic holidays are super rad when you work for the federal government, let me tell you. DFTBA!

Walk This Way

You can tell a lot about a person by the way they walk, but only if you can identify the signs. Here to help you is a guide to some of the more popular styles of walking.

The Earthquake:
This person steps in a manner not only allowing everyone to know they are coming, but they manage to shake the entire building as they move. Each slow and laboured step slams against the carpet/pavement/tile/wood floor and sends the reverberations as far as the surface continues sounding as though the T-Rex from Jurassic Park is about to eat your Jeep.  These people are often self-important and feel as though everyone around them should know they are coming. Alternatively, they may just be really overweight and their legs cannot quite manage a graceful decent.

The Ballerina:
This person tends to walk on their toes at all times. They are quiet and quick in their movements but they always look like they are about to do something evil due to their sneaky nature. As their slinky steps would indicate, this person tends to be of a devious disposition, continuous prepared to run away should their plan backfire. Alternatively, this person is wearing high heels and will fall if they rely on the small sliver of support. Secondary alternative, but far less likely, they have no heels due to a battle with robot sock monkeys.

The Mechanic:
This is a person who has a determined and speedy walk. They typically have somewhere to go, or at least look as though they do. They are not necessarily mechanics per day, however they may be considered as capable of fixing things, whether they be personal problems, work problems, or problems of how to get more snacks in the fridge. They take long steps at a quick pace the the average three year old needs to be in a full out run to keep up. Their basic walk is about as fast as most peoples speed walk. They are typically an efficient people, or at least they are efficient at getting places in a decent amount of time.

The Frump:
This is a person who walks with their shoulders slouching and their head dropping. They look like at any time they can curl up and sleep. They have no speed in their walk and typically meander slowly and randomly until they somehow arrive at their destination. By then they cannot remember why they are there and tend to spend the first five minutes figuring out their purpose.

The Penguin:
As this person waddles their way in front of your path you find yourself increasingly frustrated by their inconsistent trajectory and obnoxious wobble. As they make their way through the halls or up the sidewalk, moving as fast as a Weeble Wobble you should note that this person is probably one of two things: an inconsiderate jerk-nugget who has no consideration for the human race, or a really large person whose legs cannot bend or they will snap so they are forced to project themselves forward with their body weight.

The Royal:
This is a type of person who consistently walks with their nose in the air and is far too important to watch where they are going. Often snotty and rude, they tend to get upset by those who dare cross their path and force them to stop and slap someone with their perfectly pressed white glove. The only exception and allowance to this, is the Queen. She can do whatever the hell she pleases because she owns everything. Not technically anymore, but you know if you piss her off she could have you captured and stored in a honey jar. Don't F@#* with her.

The Race Car:
This person, similar to the Mechanic move quickly, however the race car is less effective. Where the Mechanic has a purposeful driven walk, the Race Car is simply speeding around people because they can. Often found to be swerving in and out of fellow pedestrians, the Race Car is the cause of many people-collisions and stubbed toes. These people are mostly just jerks, but sometimes they are Mechanics-in training, and soon enough their quick pace will be followed by purpose.

The Sloppy Joe:
Similar to the Frump, this person does not move with much purpose or speed, however instead of keeping their head down and avoiding people, the Sloppy Joe flops all over the path in an inconsistent and unpredictable manner. They will take time to check out all the items on either side of the aisle in a super market while simultaneously blocking the middle, they will wander from side to side on the sidewalk not allowing you to pass, and in general they just never move and have no idea what is going on. They probably think they are funny and friendly, but really they are just an ass.

The I.D.I.O.T.
This is a combination of a Sloppy Joe, a Royal, a Race Car with a touch of Earthquake and occasionally Penguin. This is the I.D.I.O.T. If you don't remember what this stands for, please read this. These young people are the ones who think that the whole world revolves around them and that no one else in the world has anything more important to do then stop in the middle of an intersection to discuss Twilight. They don't seem to understand that cars are bigger then them, and that people hate them.

So those are some of the basic types, there are many more.

There is one extra bonus type that is only accessible to a select few and only in dire situations.

Fair Skills:
Only available on a need-to-use basis, Fair Skills allow you to temporarily act like a Race Car but get away so fast that by the time people are annoyed you are long gone. Only for using in extremely crowded situations such as the Fair, or exiting large public events where if you do not make it to the other end quickly you will be stuck in traffic, or be late for something. You need to pass a test to be allowed to use this skill as it is beyond complex. There are only three known to date that possess this skill high enough to be deemed Fair Skills. Their identities must be kept secret for their safety.

What type are you?

Get to Know Me! (If you really want to...)

I don't have a lot of interesting stuff to talk about today. I am not at work because its Saturday so that means I am not bitter and angry today which means thinking up sarcastic comments on the world is more of a challenge.

I would like to say that my home office is a total mess and not at all up to snuff with how clean it should be ` is in my mind. How am I to proudly display my THOR hammer or batman masks if there are papers and cans everywhere? This is not a healthy environment for someone like me. I don't really understand how I am a crazy OCD/anal idiot about the organization of really weird things like blankets and pillows on my bed, but my desk constantly looks like a tornado has run over it four and a half times.

I will  commence cleaning in a moment. If you don't believe that I have a Thor hammer, you would be so wrong... Best 5$ I ever spent.

Anyways, the main thing I would like to discuss today, is how can someone be so organized with some parts of their life, yet when it comes to others they are the absolute worst.

See, the main thing is that I know I CAN clean like a crazy mother f*#$er. I am part dutch. Them dutch folk got the cleaning thing down. And yet, my desk is coverered in the most bizarre selection of crap.

Here is a partial list of what I have:
1. Thor Hammer
2. Two batman masks
3. Four muppet finger puppets
4. one bag of stale baked lays
5. three digital cameras
6. many empty cans of soda
7. a couple USB keys
8. three notebooks
9. my sketchbook
10. bills
And more...

Now why do I need all this here? Other than the Batman masks and Thor's hammer, I need about none of it. The problem is, I trusted Ikea to sell me an efficient desk. I did not really think through the whole "no drawers" concept mostly because I knew the drawers would just be full of mess instead, however I still think that would be better than what it is now. This is really boring and not at all interesting, witty, or fun.

I should write about interesting things so people start to read this... Whats interesting for people? Correction, what is interesting for people that I know anything about? That narrows it down to about... nothing. Shit.

Oh well. I think I might go read my new comics because they have been in my house for three days and I haven't had time to read them.

BUT FIRST!

Because I am so far a pretty mysterious and weird-seeming creature, I thought I would enlighten you to some more weird and mysterious things about me... here is a random quiz I found to help you get to know me better!

1. What time did you go to bed last night and were you alone?
I went to bed.... probably around 11. I was falling asleep watching the Olympic parade thing... I got tricked into it and then was shocked by how many countries I have never heard of... Then almost failing Geography in high school made a lot more sense. Sorry teacher for hating you so much..

2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be?

Any gift eh? ...hmm... I wouldn't mind having Adam West's batmobile? That would look pretty much 10000 times cooler then anyone else on my blocks car for sure.

3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why?

The Dark Knight Rises was pretty awesome and exciting. I really loved the ending

4. What is your favourite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it?
F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I have all ten seasons yet still watch it on TV almost every day...

5. Whats your favourite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do?
My favourite way to wake up is by myself. I hate being woken up by others or by alarms. The first thing I do is go to the bathroom because I have a bladder the size of a small weasel.

6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name?
Batman.

7. If you had to do a bushtucker challenge (you have to eat insects/grubs etc) what would be the worst thing you had to eat?
Why is craps name would I do this challenge? All of it would be the worst... I don't think you know me very well quiz.. I don't eat bugs. that's stupid.

8. Whats the worst/most embarrassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it? The first CD's I bought were Shaggy and Christina Agulleira at the same time. I definitely still own them both.

9. what would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)?
Other than the batmobile I want a yellow mini cooper... it will be mine.

10. Whats your favourite fantasy people sandwich?
I don't understand this question.. perhaps because its maybe dirty? I am too tired today so instead I will make up my own question: Which person would I like to share a sandwich with? No one, sandwiches are too small to share you greedy ass.

11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself?
Apparently I am a greedy asshole and wont share a sandwich with anyone... that's pretty undesirable.

12. Your favourite item of clothing and why?
My yellow shoes of course! Or my batman shirts... or my new XMEN ones pretty excellent. I am pretty nerdy so anything with someone from a comic book is basically treated like its worth more then my car... granted that's not hard my cars one big pothole from expiring.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with?
I really want to travel around Europe with Crystal. Ireland, England, Holland, Scotland, and Greece too because it would be fun.

14. If you could have any animal/creature, What would be your ultimate pet be?
Dog-sized stegosaurus (minus spiky tail.) Or a pug or English bulldog even though they are pretty basic I still want one. OR! If I could have anything, a  monkey would be pretty cool if someone else trained it and made it not turn all violent when it got older.

15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be?
I wanted to be Batman or Batgirl... never Robin. hes lame. Will I ever be Batgirl? Well... I need to lose some weight first because I cannot fit into that spandex quite yet, or if I could I could promise you the only thing that would stop the villains would be their appalled and shocked attempts to guard their faces.

16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life?
I am going on a road trip with the boy next week. I am nervous a bit... He tends to get cranky when he gets lost and we almost always get lost...

17. What were you doing before you started this?
I was going to clean and do laundry but instead sat down...

18. What was the last thing you ate that you really shouldnt of ?
I had KD for supper... it was so so good too.. I might have more today because I hate myself apparently.

19. If you were an ice cream/haagen daz/ben an jerrys flavour what would you be?
Self-Loathing and Sarcasm? with sprinkles though, that softens the bitter tang.

20. Who was the last person you spoke to that you didn't want to talk to?
People at work I guess...

21. What was your favourite toy as a child  . . .and now?
Um... depending on what age you are referring it would be Barbies... or ... no it is always Barbies.
Now I am pretty excited about my Thor hammer, not going to lie its the best 5$ I have ever spent

22. When was the last time you cried laughing and why?
Any time I hang out with Crystal. Because that's just what we do.

23. What is stashed under your bed/mattress?
hundreds of socks. My bed eats them and leaves me only the holey ones. My bed is kind of an ass hole like that.

24. What did you dream about last night?
I don't know about last night but this morning I fell back asleep when Dave left and dreamt about that new Dance movie, except I bet my version was better...

25. What are you really afraid of?
I have an anxiety disorder so I am afraid of basically everything on the face of the Earth and beyond. Its a good time.

PS: My Desk is pretty awesome and you should be jealous.

Elevator Personality Test

You can tell a lot about a person by the way they ride the elevator. In my time at this job ,I have probably accumulated several hours of elevator-ride time. I work on the 18th Floor of my building so taking the stairs is not really an option for the chubby out of shape girl. Also, you can’t actually access the stairs going up and they don’t like you to come out of them at the bottom (it might actually set of alarms I am not sure). They like to check your pass if you want to go in for security purposes. Also, I think it just makes their jobs a bit more fun to see all the really bad pictures all day.

Back to the elevators!

There are 5 main types of people as I have found through my very advanced psychological experiment through my vast and varied sample groups... Obviously this is legit people.

Type 1: The Button Presser

This is the person who presses the button eight times even when its already lit up. They proceed to press the floor they are going to and immediately tap on the door close button in hopes that it will actually close. (In my building especially that button is a cruel joke placed by engineers looking to ruin these peoples days). Then, when the elevator stops at any number of the floors (in all honesty at this building it usually stops at every floor) they sigh dramatically and as soon as the person is on/off they slam the door close button repeatedly until it finally closes.

General characteristics: Ego-centric, impatient, usually rude, characteristic dramatic sigh at all stops

Exceptions: Sometimes when you’re running late and the elevator won’t come, you have to push the button repeatedly just to give you brain something to focus on other than your lateness.

Are you this person? Answer the following questions:

1.      Do you believe that pressing the door close button actually works?

2.      Do you tap your foot as you ride?

3.      Do you sigh dramatically because the elevator dare stop and interrupt your schedule?

4.      Do you believe the elevators are scheming against you to try to get you fired?

If you answered Yes to any or all of these questions, you are a Type 1 – button presser. Please proceed to your nearest psychiatrist and obtain some mild sedatives before your colleagues attack you – or worse, the elevators.

Type 2: Captain Molasses

This is the person who is standing waiting for the elevator patiently, usually off in their own space-cadet world. They hear the ding of the elevator notifying its arrival but don’t really look to see which elevator it is (We have 6 elevators in our building). They listen and notice the doors are open but usually at this point someone they know is walking by and they proceed to chat as they slowly mosey to the elevator. The poor chump already in the elevator stands holding the door out of politeness until the person reaches the door, holds it themselves, and continues to chat for another moment causing the person inside to turn purple in rage (especially if they are Type 1). Once they are in the elevator they slowly push the button and wait patiently. When they arrive at their floor they ooze out of the elevator as if their back end was stuck in a vacuum and are always sure to cover the entire space of the door blocking that poor elevator-person behind until they feel it necessary to dislodge and mosey out.

General characteristics: Lazy, slow, and social

Exceptions: Someone who is injured and cannot physically move faster gets a free pass.

Are you this person? Answer the following questions:

1.      Do you walk slower than most people?

2.      Do you stand in the door way of the elevator long enough for it to start closing?

3.      Do your fellow elevator riders look at you in disgust?

4.      Do you find yourself looking to waste time by chatting with people you don’t really like?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then you need to pick up the pace and stop getting in peoples way because you are a Type 2 – Captain Molasses. If you want to move slow, please just stay out of the way so the others don’t go crazy?

Type 3: The Creeper

This is the person who no matter how empty the elevator is, always stands directly behind/beside you, close enough you can feel their breath. Fairly self explanatory, but a million times more traumatizing then any other elevator experience short of it getting stuck for many hours. The worst situation possible would be being stuck in an elevator with this person... that would be terrible.

General characteristics: Lack of basic social skills, thinks they are being friendly, creepy as all crap.

Exceptions: There are no exceptions for this, step the F*&? Back. Now. Thank you.

Are you this person? Answer the following questions:

1.      Do you like to stand close to people?

2.      Do you often stand so close you can smell the person’s shampoo?

3.      Are you able to comment on a person’s scalp condition that you are not intimately involved with?

4.      Do you breath in a fashion resembling Darth Vader?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions then back the F!@# up you Type 3 – The Creeper. People don’t like you as much as you think they do, they are simply just afraid you will axe murder them if they dare say anything to you. Take it from me; people will be nicer to you if you stop breathing on them. Seriously. I promise.

Type 4: Gobblers

These are the people that, whether or not you know them, blabber on to you for the entire duration of your decent/assent about things you couldn’t care less about. They tell you about their ex-mother-in-laws botched face lift, their “Uncle” Cathy’s sex change, anything to keep the awkward silence from reminding them of their own insecurities.

General characteristics: insecure, social, probably from a small town, gossip, good intentions but at 7 am no one cares so please stop.

Exceptions: You can chat if you know the person... or if they give you the general, “How’s she going” nod. But in the city that is rare.  So please just keep to the awkward social protocol of entering the elevator and shutting up.

Are you this person? Answer the following questions:

1.      Do you find that people around you are no longer answering your question switch any more then the common “mmhmm’s” or “okay’s”?

2.      Do you find people turn away when they see you waiting for the elevator?

3.      Do you notice people turning up their IPod’s when you start to talk?

4.      Do you find your throat is sore from talking by the end of the day?

If you answered yes to any or all of these then you are a Type 4 – Gobbler. You should probably be quiet for a little bit and try to internalize this and before you go on gobbling to everyone how you are a gobbler or any other stories, think to yourself these two very important things: 1. Does it affect anyone at all? 2. Even if it does, do you think they will care? Chances are the answer is no... so just stay quiet for a bit.

Type 5: Ninjas

These are the people that as soon as the elevator doors open they sneak in and try to get the doors closed before anyone else jumps in. They are courteous if someone else gets in but they are the lucky ones who seem to have the elevators arriving at their simplest whim and they seem to be able to make it more than one floor down before it stops again. They are magic people and are very lucky.

Characteristics: excellent timing, clever, 6th sense of elevator-preparedness

Exceptions: When caught trying to close the door when someone is coming is very awkward once the other person makes it. You lose ninja status if people are making it into your elevators too often and then you are relabelled as a Type 1, unable to reapply for ninja status for at least 6 months.

Are you this person? Answer the following questions:

1.      Can you escape your building without your boss knowing?

2.      Can you get out of the building and back to your desk with a coffee or snack without anyone even knowing you were gone?

3.      Do the elevators actually close the doors when you try to?

4.      Are you proficient in elevator martial arts? Yes its a thing, if you don’t know then the answer is no.

If you answered yes to any or all of these then lucky you, you are a Type 5 – Ninja! You are the sneakiest of all the elevator riders and you have the privilege of spending most of your time in the elevator unaccompanied by chatty, neck breathing, button pressing slow pokes. Good on you.

 BONUS TYPE: THE CHILD

This is a rare form of person that is not one of the most basic types but comes out mostly when in crowds of people who are all friends / related. Not specifically referring to an actual child, this is the person who feels it necessary to jump on the elevator, push all the buttons in goofy patterns, and in general have no respect for others.

General Characteristics: Immature, usually only occurs in groups, typically loud and laughing, potentially drunk.

Exceptions: Not even actual children should do this, parents should not submit other people to their demon spawn kids. If you kid can't handle the elevator take the stairs. That is mean yes, but if you aren't alone then don't let your kids near the elevator buttons.

(No test necessary, you know who you are...)

So, all that said, these basic profiles of elevator riders can be translated out to the real world by the general characteristics. Next time you want to judge a person’s character, bring them into an elevator in a strange place they don’t know and see what happens. By the way, I drew you another picture. Yes I am so generous, thank you.
